Vorkath dhcb guide reddit I'm looking to do my first 50 KC at vorkath for the head this weekend. it's a very chill and easy boss in my opinion. The only edge the dhcb has is the potential for the occasional super fast kill because of lucky ruby bolt e effects. If you don't have the full amount of cash yet for the armor and the bowfa, you can get the armor first and use the crystal bow instead on other content until you get the rest of the cash for the bowfa. Pay very close attention to your trips and answer the following questions for yourself: We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us. Hello and welcome to another data log, this time for Vorkath with DHCB. Also try out rune dragons with the dhl. IDK i use serp with god d hide take less dmg and do more dps. You also can never lose rigour in the (unlikely but still possible) event you get hacked. Welcome. Before I stopped playing, the lance was considered good, but the crossbow was still superior. I never mastered the woox walk with DHCB and it's so much easier to do with melee. I have 160m to spend on gear to kill it(I have B gloves, fire cape, Drag defender and Fighter torso), and I would like to know if it's better to kill it with melee or ranged. I rekon they though people would value spectral more cause her mage attacks p4 and p5 drain prayer but its just not enough to justify. On average its slower than range I think but you're not relying on bolt procs and save money on ammo. This is my setup: DHCB with diamond and Ruby Dragon bolts(e) (use Ruby and swap to Diamond when Vork hits 35%) Full Elite Void Salve Amulet (ei) <--- super important Dhcb, the tiles beyond it's range are the tiles directly in front of the entrance, mark tiles two spaces away from the entrance. I guess i’d save a bit of money extra before unlocking it with my whole cashstack. The ranged attack from Vorkath is slapping my cheeks pretty hard. At a neat 60m for DHCB vs 37m for rigour, with a straight 23% damage boost, plus a 20% higher chance to hit, rigour is the cheaper, better alternative. Ull have rhe muscle memory ull just need to react to the rapid fire phase. 40 I messed up slightly on this and claw scratched (missed spec orb) the first one before undead spawn, so I ended up double clawing after I was free, but you'd be hitting 45s otherwise The community for Old School RuneScape discussion on Reddit. Shields should be the only concideration. Sub optimal bolt switches, no ddarts BP, not using BP over dhcb where appropriate, eating food at the wrong times, not doing the dhcb 5t acid walk, etc etc. Lets say you kill vorkath 30 times a hour as stated on money making guide. i've always wondered why range weapons didnt have some form of strength bonus built in seperate from the bolts. And it adds so much damage and defence to the table. Range is objectively higher kills per hour if you're doing everything correctly and have maxed gear. Reason being that woox walking with DHCB is harder and takes time. Lance is better at vorkath because of it. Most comments here recommend dragon bolts, they are obviously BIS here (especially using Ruby Drag-> then diamond drag at 250hp and below) but the problem is the expense. Go in with a normal anti-fire, pray mage and save a minute+ of time per kc, sure the avg hit you take from Vorkath’s dragonfire is higher, but the faster killtimes more than make up for it. 10 with super antifire + protect from mage or normal antifire + anti-dragon shield). Wouldn’t even try without a defence lowering weapon. I recently grinded out the basic void range set and am wondering if it is worth it to grind out the diaries needed for void elite or if normal void should suffice for the first 50 KC. I have been using DHCB for a while now at vorkath and have stopped using a spec weapon for about 1000 kills. Just started playing again, and I was wondering which combat style is better for Vorkath. If you really don't want to be killing Vorkath or just not spending so long at the same place, a decently long vorkath grind for task can be daunting. You're doing something wrong if your melee kills are faster. Also I found that using a crossbow with an anti dragon fire shield and an extended anti fire pot while praying range is what got me the kills. Using bandos is more than good enough and the times, while slower than DHCB, are at least close. As always if there's anything you'd like to see covered let me know and I'll do my best to make it happen. Any personal experiences are welcome to share since I'm curious :D. That said, Bowfa is more usable for the rooms. If vorkath does the prayer takeoff just click your quick prayer button again. Sure, as long as you eventually move on lol. Everyone saying you need super anti-fires to use bowfa at vorkath are capping hard. I don't have a computer, I can't borrow a computer and I can't afford a computer. This means you lose dps since you only attack every 6 ticks. Only difference is a negligible accuracy increase and the 20% chance to throw in a ruby special attack every kill. Won't the spec it gaurentee a 110 damage hit if it hits with Ruby bolts? That's really good. This account is mobile only. If you're planning on camping Vork I'd go with the DHCB otherwise I'd get Rigour. Edit: thanks for the responses I do have a dhl so I’ll give melee a try Generally DHL and DHCB is around the same kph at vorkath, but DHL is cheaper to use because you don’t use any bolts -> so for a gp/hr efficiency standpoint DHL would be the way to go. Or swap the order; Rigour (generally just a good account upgrade) and then DHCB. Atleast pre-buy the supplies for 100 Vorkath kills before unlocking it. I assume you know to pray range with dhcb. If you're only using a DCB and have lower range level, then dhide might win. serp/d hide seems to work faster for me. I have both speed run achievements without woox walking in pretty average gear. Reddit's #1 spot for Pokémon GO™ discoveries and research. Edit: It's also useful for bringing a high-damage spec weapon in range gear without having to bring melee switches for claw specs Not worth using, that inv space is better used for food/pots with dhcb to allow for basically one more kill per inventory. Dragon ruby+diamond is probably significantly better DPS than their rune equivalents, but they are also 1,2k each. Also a few other tips, don’t forget you can click your HP bar to heal venom with the potion in your inv, you can use a slayer staff to auto crumble undead for the spiders which is a bit easier for me than going to my mage book everytime, I’d not try woox walking until 100-200 kc or else you waste time dying, sounds like you have pretty good gear best of luck pretty easy. Personally I would just man up and get dragon bolts. is elite void + rcb better than full crystal + bowfa? Feel like I’d get shredded in crystal without dragon shield but still curious You do get hit harder with crystal/bowfa (assuming you just have regular antifires) because his dragonfire max hit is a 20 with protect from mage + normal antifire (vs. Void is better when you get dhcb. dhcb dancing is much easier although you dont have to dance at all. Vorkath with Dragon hunter lance I‘ve recently bought a dhl, after selling everything that i have. I have about one mil to go before I can afford a dhcb. Vorkath is great steady money, but, if you want to get endgame rich you're going to need to do over 10,000 kills. The % stacks from void for ridiculous damage and accuracy. With those 3 changes you should be fine. Kill a few blue dragons, brutal blacks and buy a basic blessed d hide set and you're ready for the big blue bastard. I just bought a DHCB to grind some vorky boi, and was wondering what bolts I should use. I wouldn't sell stuff unless you're OK committing to do at least 200 or so, or the merch is going to cut out a big chunk of your profits. Sure, DHCB is absolutely worth it, but you can get similar outputs with just better bolts + rigour a Lance (Significantly cheaper than DHCB), Barrows top/body, serp, d boots and barrows gloves with defender & salve is a good cheap setup and MUCH better DPS Add in a BGS too, and make sure you use piety, and your kills will fly by. I've done around 300 dhcb vorks and haven't had a acid pattern yet where I couldn't do it. Before awakening vorkath, practice the walk on sleeping vorkath. Barrows gloves, Elite Void, DHCB, Archer's ring. Why do ironmen kill vorkath? Of course, with fang/dhl/dhcb the kills are easy and take little supplies, but the drops dont look very useful to me. Both on a 1/5000 roll so you better bet is, you never find one. Been doing some easy bosses like mole and sarachniss and want to start doing vorkath so I’m working on elite void. Its close enough at vorkath and amazing for Raids 1/Rune dragons. If you can only afford either DHL or DHCB I'd definitely say go with the lance. Acb was worth more because dhcb only had +10% bonus damage and accuracy against dragons prior to ds2. So before I got dhcb and I got around 500 KC just using blowpipe, I found that if I didn't use any deff lowering spec and using addy darts I got 2-3kills per trip in comparison to the 1 possibly 2 from using a deff lowering spec so IMO you don't really need a deff lowering spec at all. Void isnt worth for melee. Now the issue is my gear. With the different Spec combinations(DWH/BGS) Spec accuracy chance, The new fa Lance and dhcb are comparable kills/hr, but the lance doesn't spend money on bolts. I almost have max melee gear, and not much cash. Melee Vorkath is super chill too I started vorkath as my first boss grind (first real pvm experience) at 81 ranged, with elite void since I got it for zulrah but didnt get even 3 kc and hated it. Could be used at vorkath, hydra, ToB, etc. BP is fast kills, but it is arguable more difficult to get the woox walk down. with my range being at lvl 90 rn, I’m getting around 3min kills. 801K subscribers in the 2007scape community. That said I'm really not sure how much faster melee could realistlcally be even if I sweat. If you have to ask which one to get I would always recommend DHCB to a beginner. I view Vorkath as my watching something on my other monitor boss so I don't take it that seriously. The spawn has 38 Hitpoints and will walk towards the player. But if you're looking to do range for Vorky its kind of a toss up. The mods here at /r/2007scape aim to make this the number one place to have fun, meet friends, and create memories! Hi! I did 1000 Vorkath KC with ranged, the first 500 kills without a DHCB. That dhcb is 50% of the entire setup, you’re almost in max eficient setup. I recently have decided that the extra inventory slot was worth the hassle for the healing I can get from blowpipe but it feels super awkward to use the specs on it, so as the title says I wanna know where I should use the them and preferably give a reason why. 375 votes, 216 comments. Otherwise it's not much of a big deal. This guarantees no deaths while learning the walk. My move was, I grinded vorkath with rigour and dhcb until I could afford good slayer gear, did slayer until my stats were raid ready, then had a lot of fun raiding. And if you really aren't enjoying it, you could always do X vorkath before speeding through the task at baby blue dragons; that is what I started doing for Sire because oh boy 200+ sires is rough. Not nearly as much money in them as brutal blacks but a chill task if you’re into afk slayer and unlike blue dragons it’s usually only like 40-50 so it doesn’t take hours Currently 4k zulrah kc, haven't played since last summer, need to rebuild. I personally use BGS + Lance + Piety for Vorkath. I'm getting very frustrated I just don't know why I can't. And it was very knice, after 60 or 70 kills I dumped everything for a dhcb, best purchase of my life. For blowpipe I would use karils til 88-90 range. I found the most success praying mage and using a blowpipe over a dragon crossbow with dragon bolts. It’s of course one of the best weapons to use for Nex or Sara. Which results in my death almost everytime. I struggled swapping from bp to dhcb at first too, going from 3mins+ to the occasional sub 1min but average 1:15-130. DHCB is really expensive but it would be an awesome upgrade too, but only a little better then rigour, which is way cheaper. You'll run to the back tile (2 ticks) and then walk to Vorkath (3 ticks). With DHCB, Elite void, and Salve (ei), I would expect your kill average should be somewhere around 3-4 per trip. What changed? I just finished off a ~150 blue dragon task at Vorkath using a dhcb, but if the lance is better, I'd really like to know. We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us. With all the bonuses the dhcb is dumb accurate against vorkath and so you won't see a worth while increase in accuracy by lowering it So I did DS2 yesterday and am now learning Vorkath for the assembler, I can get consistent kills and sometimes 2 kill trips but use a lot of sharks and potions per kill. Then, if you plan to do vorkath a lot, I'd get DHCB and DFW before pegs. Once you get a DHCB, you switch to pray range instead and use a regular antidrag shield, eventually upgrading to DFW. Would it be worth it to go for it to help improve kill times? When Vorkath reaches 250-300 Hitpoints (33-40%), you should switch to Diamond dragon bolts(e). Vorkath has been my main source of money for a while now. Why do ironmen kill vorkath? Of course, with fang/dhl/dhcb the kills are easy and take little supplies, but the drops dont look very useful to My alt is at your level and I tried vorkath and it was about 2 mins per kill with bis gear, 87 range and eagle eye. idk i tried void for 15 kills and about 39292 failures. I'd work on DHCB as imo that would be a bigger DPS increase than rigour with your current setup. Bowfa should be ~20% more dps than rcb+ruby bolts (e) at max vorkath hp and ~50% better than diamond bolts (e). I've watched Smallexplamp kill Vorkath on his Need Bonds account without elite void on his Free to Play to Main Series (although he was using the dhcb AND rigour with either close to maxed or 99range) and he was able to get a 1min 27 sec kill, or 1 min 47 sec kill (it was probably the latter—still fast tho). If you can scrape together the 80mil by selling your bank, then definitely get a dhcb. 3k kc here, ~1800 with dhcb. I just got a DHCB on the gim but already have a bowfa and was wondering if there was anywhere in the game besides vorkath that it might be useful for me. So I started doing Vorkath this weekend with a standard starter setup; elite void, slave, BGS, blowpipe, etc. Having the shield with the super anti-fire potion makes the dragon fire attacks a lot less punishing, plus, you can use Protect from Range instead of Mage. Do I absolutely need the godsword to make Tried a few runs with BP using rune darts your same gear and with bgs but it just isn’t very good. I've got to do 5 pre-req quests to do DS2, and on top of that don't have money for DHCB, wondering if it's even worth it or if i should just keep grinding zulrah. DHL if you're higher in melee stats, although it is going to be less afk because you have to account for melee hits from Vorkath. And the dmg you take assuming you dont plank the mechanics could be anywhere between 0-1000 since his attack styles rng its just more likely praying range with a dhcb/anti and taking the mage hit is going to be less damage then tanking the range hit as they both got the samw Killing Vorkath (Dragon Hunter Lance). The strength bonus is better than the void bonus. Me neither when the bolts were 800gp-1k ea, but at 4k each it does cut into your profits a decent amount. It also means you can leave your run on the entire time and you don't have to mess with turning run on/off. Great feeling and all but the main reason for buying that was the blue dragon task and vorki. No need for bis str gear too, I just used serp, torso, torags, dboots, ferocious, d def and fire cape. Wooxwalking w crossbow is usually death if you missclick once, since it changes your pattern from always dodging to always taking damage pretty much. My fastest time 2:22 seconds at vorkath was done with the lance, however I got super lucky with my hits that run, and on the opposite side of that spectrum sometimes it can take up to 5 minutes to kill vorkath with the lance, while when using the fang I can do it pretty consistently in 3. If you are soloing also keep in mind the slower attack speed on dhcb makes head phase a bit easier. Underrated. Reading this kind of shit knowing I can get 4 vorkath kills a trip in pleb gear with 1 hand on my dick is incredibly funny Killing Vorkath (Dragon Hunter Lance). DHCB will probably shoot up a bit once the blowpipe nerf happens, since bp will be a good bit less viable in comparison at stuff like Vorkath When the first rebalancing blog came out, it went up to around 120m for a short while. I am using a crossbow for the fight. My question is which is more important: Rigour or DHCB. So I normally just turn off run for the fight. Also after that killed Vorkath 9 times for Ava's upgrade. I would even do it if you aren't woox walking because why bother. You could either keep going, saving for a DHCB or do something else a bit less supply heavy that you can make pretty consistent money with, like Zalcano, Dharok the Giant Mole, Demonic Gorillas or even making Ranaar (unf) potions. I found that dhcb is so accurate that level makes little difference and rigour is most important (if you have dhcb). That's probably a bit too high but I could see it going back to around 100m pretty easily The only damage I was taking was from his magic attacks but it was still taking more than half my inv of sharks per kill. I didn't even have a DHCB so the kills take longer but I only had 80 ranged at the time and couldn't afford a DHCB. maybe if they buffed it up to cerb numbers then people would bring spectral flick 15 votes, 10 comments. Instead, what I did when I had dhcb was walk around the outermost ring of squares, only stepping in exactly when I can attack again. Good luck in there. Join us for game… Dont bring bgs switch with dhcb, bp is your spec weapon. Would also be very helpful for completing the speedrunning combat tasks. The reduced damage from antifire shield probably doesn't increase kills per trip simply because killing vorkath slower makes you take more damage too, so might as well use the bowfa and get faster kills. Due to the slow attack speed of the Dragon hunter crossbow, it is imperative that you stop attacking Vorkath immediately when he uses the special freeze attack on you, as the slow attack speed recovery can delay your Crumble Undead cast too much to DHCB if you're higher in ranging. If you already have a ward and rigour then yeah it's worth it if all you're doing is Vorkath. but they did take 3-5min per kill. Woox walk with BP and DHCB for everything else. A month after ds2 was released this was changed to +30%, which made dhcb actually worth using. The problem with vorkath is he has no drops of big value. Did kills with DHCB and I tried using BGS for a while, I noticed a very little difference in kill time. It’s literally such free DPS. I would also consider getting rigour if you don't have it already. With dhcb, you want to attack every 5 ticks, but you can only attack every other tick while woox walking. Do save up for rigour and if you wanna keep grinding vorkath buy a DHCB after that. dhcb (ruby proc), dhcb (ruby proc), dhcb 3 more times into 8 way melee, claw spec, lance hit, undead spawn, lance, claw, lance to kill as acid was thrown for 47. May depend on your range level and other gear, but void usually wins due to its multipliers stacking with DHCB and salve (ei). Just get the lance. Reply reply Hey there. Rangers/pegs give such a small benefit compared to anything else despite costing a not insignificant chunk of money for an early game account. After a few dozen kills with it, the conclusion I came to was that the only difference it made was that I had to bank more due to less inventory spots. Now the real question is: should I use ranged or melee at vorkath and what setup would be the best. Easy 4-5 kill trips. Even with 80 defense 80 mage you shouldn't be getting 2 kill trips. Enjoy! Kills & Experience. Vorkath since you have DHCB I wouldnt recommend zulrah since contrary to popular belief it is not good money , the money comes from seed and thing lile that you sell at the GE You could work on gauntlet a few time , if you arent grinding the shit out if it its actually fun contemt and who knows you could get a blade As long as the dhcb is hitting 100s with rubies it is probably better. I'm not saying DHCB isn't better than bis melee, but it wasn't worth ~180m to me for slightly faster kills and a more difficult woox walk. Also people always look at the pure DPS stats for the weapons but because of the slower speed of the DHCB, missing an attack due to eating or attacking Vorkath when he's invincible is more of a hit to your dps than the lance. Crypto Hi I recently completed dragon Slayer 2. You'll get more flexibility out of Rigour since its used in a lot of bossing but DHCB with Dragon Ruby Bolts (e) can shred if you get a couple specs. I plan on doing my blue dragon task for profit at vorkath. Total Kills - 220 Kills / Hour - 22 whatever anyone says fang is still better at vork even after the nerf, ive tested it myself i get less than 2m kills with fang, with dhl especially when the BGS or DWH misses its nearly 3 minutes add in the time it takes to F around going to recharge your spec if you miss, the fang is the best choice, it does everything and you dont have a 50m lance sitting in the bank only for vork dragons I started lancing vorkath at 76/85/80 had much more consistent kill times and kills per trip compared to dhcb and d xbow. I wouldn't recommend you meele vorkath, DHCB will be the optimum method with void and salve ei. The only drops he has is 13m range shield and 2m mele shield. As the other guy said, the wiki vork guide states that you spend 800k/h on bolts with dhcb, which is imo significant enough that lance makes more sense, unless you have much better ranged stats than melees. I already have rigour and full elite void, etc. I managed to kill Vorkath without dying once, found the mechanics pretty easy to my surprise. From what I gather, these are the main reasons to kill vorkath: prayer xp from superior bones and dragon bones crafting xp from battlestaffs and dhide cooking xp from grapes gp from alchs Depends what you plan to sell and how long you grind Vorkath. So with dragon you lose 1. Crystal bow with armor is better DPS most places compared to dhcb (not Vorkath though), and bowfa is a straight upgrade path from there. If you run lance and want to have anywhere near that gp/hr you need to be wearing 100M(Bandos, prims, Ferocious, Serp) - 1B+ (Torva). Assuming you have at least bofa or dhcb brutal reds actually arnt bad. Outside of dragons, acb only has +5 range attack and +2 range over dhcb, both of which are negligible improvements. Now I gotta kill Vorkath. I have dhcb and dhl for cb I only have blesses dhide or ahrims, for Lance I have bandos. Sitting at a bit over 500kc right now. I know DHCB used to be considered best when killing vork but the wiki has lance as slightly more profit per hour. Bosses all have really big HP bars and I’ve barely missed a spec yet.
